BAWA Healthcare & Leisure

Now in its 78th year, BAWA is an unincorporated members' association that has been growing and developing since 1942.

We are a ‘not-for-profit’ organisation offering healthcare and leisure services and facilities with the aim of promoting good health and wellbeing for our many thousands of members.

Rolls-Royce Plc, Airbus UK, BAE Systems, MBDA and GKN Aerospace employees make up the traditional core of our membership however more and more local employers have realised the benefits of offering BAWA membership to their staff and the list is growing considerably. We now include the likes of South Gloucestershire Council, North Bristol NHS Trust and John Lewis Partnership employees amongst our members, to name but a few. This growth in the constituent company base is beneficial as it allows further enhancement to the services we offer all of our members.

With regards to membership, the cost of our bargain Sports Membership option which is available to any Constituent Company employee is just £1.84 per week. This offers BAWA membership including up to £200 annual medical cashback at a truly remarkable price.

Besides our provision of excellent healthcare cover, our extensive Leisure Centre complex hosts premier entertainment acts and we offer ever-improving Sports and Leisure facilities along with a superb Conference and Events centre.

The Prize Draw is open to all BAWA members and costs just £1 per week for each four-number entry. We offer fantastic prizes including a monthly first prize of £10,000, second and third prizes in the £1000’s Plus many other prizes every month!

BAWA Special Events

BAWA hosts fantastic live entertainment events with regular Saturday night specials.

Enjoy our outstanding tribute acts and concerts in a great venue. Dress requirements, conditions of entry and conduct are printed on reverse of all tickets. To purchase tickets for any of these events you can either visit BAWA Receptions and pick up the tickets in person or phone Sports Reception on 0117 9768066 and pay by debit/credit card. Tickets can be picked up on the night of the event or before. The management reserve the right to alter the entertainment programme should it deem necessary. Functions & Entertainment

BAWA hosts a wide variety of events for clubs, charities, organisations and individuals.

We have a great selection of rooms to offer, together with in-house catering facilities that can deliver the kind of food appropriate to your event. We provide everything you need to help ensure your event is a success.

BAWA is only five minutes drive from the M5/M4 interchange at Almondsbury and is very easy to find. Our on-site car park has space for 350 cars for which there is constant camera surveillance. Alternatively, Bristol Parkway Station is only a five minute taxi ride away.

All the facilities are accessible to people in wheelchairs, with wide doorways and a lift to the first floor. There are toilets on each floor, and cold drinks vending machines on the ground floor. There are two receptions, both staffed continuously throughout the day, and BAWA has its own security staff and systems that operate 24 hours a day.

Sports

BAWA offers a great range of sporting facilities to our members

We offer a great range of sporting facilities to our members at excellent rates on a monthly sports membership scheme or pay-as-you-go basis.

The fitness centre boasts air conditioning, panoramic windows and 2 Wide Screen TVs.

You will find all the usual equipment you would expect, divided into three areas LIFT, TONE and BURN!.

Relax in the Sports Lounge in the evening and enjoy Sky/BT television, darts, pool or a sociable pint with friends and colleagues.

Conference Centre

At BAWA we understand the needs of business and organisational conferencing, and our experience helps to ensure a smooth process of organisation as well as a very successful conference.

Your wedding is a very special day for everyone involved, so we are pleased to help ensure that it flows as smoothly as you could wish. With catering, drinks and venue provided, you can relax and enjoy yourself.

We give you a totally professional and personal service at a price you can afford. BAWA can offer a variety of rooms in which to host your wedding reception - as well as your evening celebration afterwards!

You can select a room based on the seating and atmosphere you require. From the superb Ballroom for larger weddings, to the Pavilion Lounge with its views out over fields and parkland through to the Concorde Room with its flexible seating - the choice is yours.
