Old Down Estate is home to our family-friendly Country Park, with year-round activities, and our magnificently refurbished Manor House which is lavishly presented for exclusive wedding hire and fully equipped to host corporate events. Our landscaped gardens, an abundance of colourful flowers and secret hedge-cut passageways surrounded by dozens of rose beds, are the perfect picture opportunity.
ld Down Country Park has so much to offer for all the family, come and experience it all in our open air setting full of nature. Situated on the outskirts of Bristol, we are set in the stunning countryside with 66 acres of open space featuring beautiful gardens, woodlands, play areas and an animal park.
Open Seven days a week we offer something for everyone from our animal encounter sessions held daily at 11am and 2pm where you can meet the animals and their keepers, to Afternoon Tea or Sunday Lunch on our rustic barn, or why not enjoy a stay in our luxury glamping tents.
We have an onsite Café currently offering a takeaway service of delicious deli options including sandwiches, salads, pasties and homemade cakes, as well as hot and cold beverages. Our farm shop is full of locally sourced products from independent businesses, along with seasonal produce grown on the estate by our talented gardeners. We cater for a range of dietary requirements, please ask a member of staff for more information and what is available on the day.
Pets’ Corner
Get up close to some of our animals, including pigs, guinea pigs, rabbits and piglets!
Please only touch the animals when a member of the Animal Team is around to help.
Adventure Park
We have a huge range of animals we’d love for you all to meet!
Including miniature donkeys, regular donkeys, pygmy goats, alpacas, Llamas, Shetland ponies, pigs, chickens, turkeys and much more!
They are all very friendly and will be more than happy for you to give them a tickle. (Please do not feed our animals anything other than animal food purchasable in the cafe as they will get very bad bellies!)
If you can remember all of the animals’ names, they will come and see you when you call!
The Victorian Walled Garden
See the endless reams of gorgeous flowers, fruits and vegetables which are used in our café and farm shop. You might even spot Kevin – who’s Kevin? Kevin is our free range peacock, you might be lucky enough to spot him as you wander round the park.
The Grounds
Explore 66 acres of beautiful, landscaped gardens. Come see our old woodland and wild flower meadows or sit with a picnic from our Kitchen Garden cafe and overlook the panoramic views of the River Severn and Wales. On your way around the trail walk, why not take a tour through the woods, kicking through the colourful autumn leaves, with your checklist of what’s what, which can be found in our farm shop.
Children’s Parties at Old Down
Old Down Country Park is a fantastic choice for your children’s birthday parties. All prices include access to the whole park.
