Nestled in 66 acres of beautiful South Gloucestershire countryside, just a few miles from Bristol, Old Down Estate is a unique destination where outdoor adventure, stunning scenery and unforgettable experiences come together. With panoramic views across the River Severn to Wales, the Estate is home to our family-friendly Country Park, elegant Manor House, rustic Barn, boutique Foxhills Spa, and seasonal accommodation. Whether you're visiting for a family day out, a relaxing afternoon, a special celebration or a memorable event, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
Old Down Country Park
Open seven days a week from 10am–5pm, our Country Park is packed with outdoor fun for all ages. Explore 66 acres of gardens, woodland trails, meadows and open green spaces, alongside exciting adventure play areas featuring a zip wire, jumping pillow, climbing equipment, sand play and more.
Meet our friendly animal residents throughout the park, including alpacas, goats, Highland cows, donkeys, pigs, rabbits, guinea pigs, birds and many more. Join our daily Animal Encounter at 11am in the Animal Barn, where you'll get the chance to meet some of our smaller animals. Animal feed can be purchased from the café to hand-feed many of our larger animals throughout the park.
Adventure Play
Our outdoor Adventure Park is designed for children of all ages, with plenty of space to climb, explore, imagine and burn off energy. From toddlers discovering the sand play area to older adventurers racing down the zip wire or bouncing on the jumping pillow, there's endless fun to enjoy.
Our Animals
Old Down is home to a wonderful collection of friendly animals living across the Estate. Visit the Animal Barn to see pigs, cows, rabbits, and guinea pigs, before exploring the surrounding paddocks where you'll find alpacas, donkeys, ponies, Highland cows, sheep and more. Our animals' welfare is our priority, so please only feed them using the specially prepared animal feed available from our café.
Victorian Walled Garden
Take a peaceful stroll through our beautiful Victorian Walled Garden, complete with colourful borders, pergola walkway, and productive kitchen garden. Many of the herbs, fruit and vegetables grown here are used throughout the Estate's food offering.
Keep an eye out for Kevin, our much-loved free roaming peacock, who often likes to make an appearance around the gardens.
Explore the Estate
Beyond the formal gardens, discover woodland walks, wildflower meadows, tranquil picnic spots, a picturesque lake and our Taxus Baccata maze. Whether you're looking for a leisurely stroll, somewhere to unwind or a scenic family adventure, there's always something new to discover.
Food & Drink
Refuel during your visit at our on-site café, serving a delicious selection of breakfasts, brunches, paninis, jacket potatoes, soups, cakes, and hot and cold drinks. The café is open to everyone and can be visited without paying Country Park admission. For something extra special, join us in the Manor House for one of our popular Afternoon Teas or Sunday Lunches, available on selected Saturdays and Sundays throughout the year. We cater for a wide range of dietary requirements, including vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options.

Our elegant Manor House and beautiful Barn provide two distinctive venues for weddings, celebrations, and corporate events. Surrounded by stunning gardens and countryside views, Old Down Estate offers a truly memorable setting for every occasion.
