Description
Now proudly under new management, this exceptional country pub offers a truly inviting escape just beyond the vibrant city of Bristol, nestled within the picturesque village of Long Ashton. Combining rustic charm with a lively atmosphere, we take pride in serving an outstanding selection of award-winning real ales, carefully chosen to satisfy both seasoned enthusiasts and casual visitors alike. Throughout the year, our calendar is filled with engaging events designed to bring the community together—from our ever-popular monthly quiz nights to our much-anticipated annual cider festival, as well as live sports screenings that create an electric atmosphere for fans of all kinds.
As the colder months draw in, the pub transforms into a haven of warmth and comfort. Our traditional open fireplaces are lit, casting a soft glow that perfectly complements the cosy surroundings—ideal for unwinding on crisp winter days. Step outside into our charming courtyard and you’ll find a beautifully presented marquee, delicately adorned with twinkling fairy lights, creating a magical setting for social gatherings or relaxed evenings under the stars.
The Angel Inn itself is a quintessential village pub with rooms, steeped in history and character. Housed within a striking two-storey building dating back to 1495, it retains many of its original features, including wooden shutters and a stunning oak-beamed roof. Despite its tranquil setting, the inn is conveniently located just 2 miles from the iconic Clifton Suspension Bridge and only 3 miles from Bristol’s bustling city centre.
For those wishing to extend their stay, our bed and breakfast accommodation provides the perfect retreat. Each of our five spacious and airy rooms is thoughtfully equipped with modern comforts, including TVs, DVD players, and tea and coffee-making facilities. Several rooms showcase charming period details such as exposed wooden beams and feature fireplaces, adding to their unique appeal. Most rooms benefit from private en suite bathrooms, while two offer well-maintained shared facilities—ensuring a comfortable and relaxing stay for every guest.
