We run a welcoming casual dining spot with beautiful boutique accommodation close to Wells, the smallest city in England, the historic Roman city of Bath previously Aqua Sulis, and the beautiful Mendip Hills AONB. Bring your special-one, your family, your social crew or workmates for relaxing drinks, amazing food, and friendly service.

We are a traditional ‘public house/country inn’ and our quality fresh food philosophy and delightful service set us apart. Dine inside or, if the weather is good, enjoy one of several outside dining areas including a generous covered terrace. As an alternative you can grab a pizza from our al-fresco eatery ‘The Carriage @ The Redan’.

The bar is open seven days a week, during the winter we have a roaring wood-burner, comfy tables and benches, a selection of games to whittle time away, a fully stocked bar with local ales, international lagers and spirits to see you through.

During the summer months we have an amazing beer garden, beautifully landscaped and great for large gatherings, food, drink and social occasions.

Dining

If you are going to dine with us, we encourage you to review our menus. We embrace fresh seasonal produce and where possible we source locally. This helps us maintain quality and limits food miles. Great for our diners, and positive for the environment too.

During the warmer months, casual diners seated in our gardens or under our covered terrace, can also order pizzas from ‘The Carriage at The Redan’, our al-fresco bar area.

The restaurant serves food all day. Sundays’ proper roasts with all the trimmings available from 12pm‑8pm.

Our Rooms

Bed and breakfast with cosy, comfortable rooms ensuring a refreshing and luxurious stay.

Set in the scenic Mendip countryside but only a short drive from Bath, Wells and Bristol, we are ideally placed for exploring the South West cities.

We think it is important for our guests to have a guaranteed touch of luxury during their stay with us ‑ we have high quality beds, duck and goose down duvets and pillows and spacious bathrooms with powerful rain showers, natural bath products from Amphora Aromatics and 100% cotton towels. The luxurious suites also have free-standing roll top baths.

The seven rooms all have wonderful individual, period features and are decorated with vintage and antique furniture and artwork. Of course, they have all been decked out with elements of Dan’s legendary collection of curios, quirks, and fascinations ‑ new, old, and even older. Individual is one way of describing it.

We are proud of our pub and dining room serving modern British food made from locally sourced produce, so our guests are able to enjoy food and drink with us too.

Events, Meetings, Weddings & Private Functions

Here at The Redan Inn we can provide bespoke celebrations. We have bags of experience in hosting weddings across all of our sites and the Redan offers a unique and intimate venue for your celebration.

Private use of The Redan Inn is available and with the added option of a marquee it makes for an all weather venue. Exclusive use of The Redan Inn also guarantees exclusive use of our 7 beautiful en-suite bedrooms.

Catering options can be adapted to your personal requirements, with our knowledgeable and passionate staff on hand to discuss your preferences and ideas with you.

We do have a private dining room which can be available for small groups of diners, family gatherings or business lunches. Our larger dining room also lends itself for larger group bookings.
