Description
Home cooked Vietnamese Food
My love for food began with my mum, who taught me everything — from cooking over fire to finding balance in every dish. In Vietnamese cuisine, balance is key: spicy, sour, salty, sweet; soft, crunchy, silky — all working together.
The dishes at The Saigon Kitchen come from my family’s and friends’ kitchens across Vietnam, each one meaningful to me.
We’ve always aimed to be that warm, welcoming spot with great local food and friendly faces — the kind of place you keep coming back to.
All my ingredients are fresh and my dishes are made on the day. One of my favourites that I love to make is called ‘Bun Cha’. It is BBQ pork belly and marinated meatballs in sweet and sour fish sauce with pickled green papaya served with rice noodle and fresh herbs. It’s a dish you can find on any corner in Hanoi at lunchtime.
I’d like to introduce what it is to eat fresh authentic Vietnamese food. The real taste of Vietnam!
Cooking Classes
We’ll cook together using traditional Vietnamese techniques to make classic dishes from all three regions of Vietnam - North, Central, and South.
Expect bold flavours, fresh herbs, and a great mix of textures.
Cooking may involve red meat, poultry, seafood, fish and gluten ingredients
It’s a hands-on, fun, and intimate class around a big kitchen table. We’ll chop, prep, cook, and then sit down to enjoy everything we’ve made. You’ll learn how to balance the five tastes (sweet, sour, salty, bitter, spicy) and textures (crunchy, soft, chewy, silky, crisp) - plus a bit about yin and yang in Vietnamese meals.
Taste of Vietnam Supper Club
After the success of my first Supper Club i've been asked to host more! A chef-curated dining experience that brings together the vibrant, soulful flavours and deep regional traditions that make Vietnamese cuisine so special to me.
Every dish on the menu will be made using traditional techniques, seasonal produce, and fresh Vietnamese herbs — some of which I’ve grown myself. paired with carefully chosen drinks, selected to complement and elevate the flavours of the food.
Throughout the evening, I’ll be cooking in front of you and sharing the stories behind each dish — where it comes from, what it means to me, and how it fits into the bigger picture of Vietnamese food culture. This is as much about connection as it is about cuisine.
