Weddings at Wookey Hole Caves

Wookey Hole Caves holds the most beautiful rock formations of any cave in England. With a choice of three chambers, this is an unusual and magical venue for your civil ceremony wedding.

Surrounded by clear pools and soft candlelight, you can make your vows in caves carved by the River Axe over millions of years. The largest chamber will hold up to 110 guests but the caves are also intimate enough to offer a ceremony for just a few people.

Reception & Catering
The experience doesn’t stop there… After your ceremony you can also hold your wedding reception in our restaurant, exclusively for you and your guests.

The restaurant is fitted with colourful ceiling drapes, beautiful chandeliers and decorative mirrors, with space available to seat up to 200 guests at full capacity.

Smaller groups are also welcome, allowing space for music and dancing.

There is a separate bar area which is also included with your reception room as well as an outside courtyard.

The Water Wheel Suite; situated within the walls of the 17th Century, Grade II Listed Paper Mill at Wookey Hole, is a unique and elegant space able to lend itself beautifully to any occasion. Entitled the Water Wheel Suite, the name is derived from the stunning views offered through one of the many great windows of this room. Restored and revitalised, this room captures the true essence of Wookey Hole’s past. Inside, carved panels of exposed brickwork allude to this building’s rich heritage, offering a rustic look while contrasting with the most elegant interior. For weddings, this space can be beautifully illuminated and adorned to suit your individual desires.
